At Frank’s Auto Service we have been Toyota fans for decades. We offer comprehensive Toyota diagnostics, repairs as well as maintenance services, both for regular and hybrid vehicles. So we’ve been watching with interest as other large car manufacturers like Honda, Stellantis, Ford and GM, piled into the EV production while Toyota seemed to remain on the sidelines. Granted, it did put out Toyota bZ4X, but it seemed still focused on the hybrids.
Well, a few years have gone by, and major changes are afoot. Honda, Stellantis, GM and Ford have written off over 50 billion dollars of their electric vehicles investment, and announced that they are scaling down their EV efforts. Ford famously announced that the F-150 Lightning EV pickup truck was discontinued.
Into that breach Toyota stepped in. Suddenly, while others are scaling down, Toyota is ramping up. Toyota bZ4X has been updated and upgraded and renamed Toyota bZ, and a new model, bZ Woodland has been introduced. It has higher ground clearance and electric motors both at the front and the rear. It’s March 2026, and you can now purchase a new and lively Toyota C-HR EV. By 2030 you will be able to buy fully electric Tacoma, Tundra, and Toyota Camry as well.
Frank’s Auto Service will continue to offer full range of Toyota maintenance and repair services. Whether you drive a gasoline powered Toyota, a hybrid, or one of the new fully electric vehicles, call our Walnut Creek auto repair shop to make an appointment.
